Ask most people in Dallas-Fort Worth where Glenn Heights is, and you’ll get a shrug. National outlets don’t cover it. Regional papers show up only when something big happens.
In between those moments, the decisions that actually shape daily life here, roads, water bills, parks, new apartments, new businesses, tend to happen quietly, with almost no coverage at all.
That’s the gap Glenn Heights Future was built to fill.
A City That Deserved Its Own Newsroom
Six weeks ago, Glenn Heights had no dedicated daily news. Today it does.
Founder Will Busby built this site on a simple idea: a small, growing city still deserves real reporting, built on public records, City Council and Planning and Zoning meetings, and old-fashioned showing up.
Busby brings 17 years in communications, public affairs and political consulting to the project, work that took him across Texas and the country before he turned his focus toward his own community.
“Local government has one of the greatest impacts on everyday life, yet it often receives the least attention,” Busby said. “Those decisions deserve clear, independent reporting residents can access and understand.”
Independent, On Purpose
Glenn Heights Future is not affiliated with the city, a political party, or any advertiser. Accuracy first, fairness always, opinion labeled as opinion, corrections made fast. That’s not a tagline. It’s the entire reason this works.
Here’s Where You Come In
In six weeks, thousands of residents have read these stories, shared them, discussed them in the comments, and shown up to meetings because of them. That’s rare for a city this size, and it’s not something we take lightly.
But this isn’t really our newsroom. It’s yours. So tell us what to dig into next:
• What should get more coverage: roads, water rates, zoning?
• What question do you want asked at the next council meeting?
• What has the city gotten right, or wrong, that deserves a closer look?
Drop it in the comments or send a note to mailto: info@glennheightsfuture.com. Whatever’s easiest works.
Six weeks down. Here’s to a lot more.
