The 336-unit Aura Glenn Heights apartment development is proposed on approximately 13.9 acres within the larger UHL Crossing planned development near Ovilla Road and South UHL Road.
The approximately 33.36-acre UHL Crossing property was rezoned in 2025 as Planned Development-32 with multifamily and commercial base zoning. The planned development allows multifamily construction at up to 25 units per acre, with a maximum of 350 multifamily units.
After the City Council denied Aura's site, landscape and elevation plans in July 2026, the applicant revised the proposal. City documents state that the landscaping was modified to comply with city requirements and building facades were redesigned to replace stucco finishes with brick masonry.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended approval of the preliminary and final plats and a zoning change to PD-32.
Council approved the UHL Crossing plats and rezoned the approximately 33.36-acre property for multifamily and commercial development.
The commission recommended approval of the site's development, landscaping and elevation plans.
Council denied the site, landscape and elevation plans and raised concerns involving parking, garages and carports, rental price points, dwelling units, amenities, security and building materials.
The commission recommended approval of the revised development plans.
Revised site, landscape and elevation plans returned to the council for consideration and was approved.
Residential growth is only part of Glenn Heights' development story. GHF is also tracking major commercial, industrial and economic-development projects that could affect the city's tax base, infrastructure and future growth.
Follow the zoning history, Chapter 380 agreement, infrastructure commitments, changing development plans and continuing public discussion surrounding the proposed AMF Mission Critical data center.
GHF will add verified retail, commercial and other significant development projects as they move through the city's public process.
New development can increase the city's population and tax base while also creating additional demand on streets, water and wastewater systems, public safety, parks and other municipal services.
In June 2026, Glenn Heights Planning and Development Services estimated that pending and under-construction development could add approximately 9,195 residents to the city.
GHF will continue following how development intersects with infrastructure, public services, city finances and long-term planning as Glenn Heights grows.
The Glenn Heights Future Development Tracker is maintained as a civic reference using City of Glenn Heights records, agenda packets, Planning and Zoning materials, City Council actions and information provided by city officials.
Development is fluid. Projects may change in size, design, ownership, schedule or status before construction is complete. A project identified as pending is not a guarantee that it will be built.
GHF will update this page as additional verified information becomes public.
Residential development totals and statuses on this page are based primarily on information provided by Glenn Heights Planning and Development Services in June 2026 and subsequent public records available through August 2026.
